Senior Java Developer
Opportunity Description
Are you passionate about creating amazing software? Do you enjoy being part of a fast-paced, challenging, fun environment?
If so, we're currently looking for an experienced software developer to join our team. In this role, you'll help develop innovative and intuitive software used by thousands of Catholic parishes, dioceses, schools, and ministries.What You'll Be Doing
Key responsibilities for this role:
- Build software for existing and new eCatholic products
- Collaborate with team members on problem-solving
- Participate in weekly developer and company meetings
- Conduct ongoing analysis to anticipate and prevent potential IT threats or malicious attacks
- Help to design technical architectures
- Constantly improve your skills in writing code that is more correct, bug-free, and performant.
- Be a part of a team that dreams big to design solutions to help the Catholic Church solve real problems as we move into the future
What We're Looking For:
Below is the list of qualifications we are looking for in the ideal candidate.
Got to have these:
- Bachelors or Masters in computer science, computer engineering, or comparable work experience
- Experience developing web-based applications with Spring MVC
- Experience developing scalable REST APIs
- Experience developing microservices
- Experience with multi-tier backend application development
- An aptitude for learning new programming languages, skills, and technologies
- Thrive working in remote agile development environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational and time management skills
Big plus if you also have these:
- 5+ years experience in development of SaaS products or enterprise applications
- Extensive experience in server architecture and management, particularly docker, kubernetes and AWS
- Familiarity with operations within the Catholic Church

Benefits and Location
This role is a full-time position with salary (commensurate to the responsibilities of the role and qualifications of the candidate) and includes retirement benefits. Candidate will work remotely.
