Josh graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University and, while in college, he was formed and shaped by the outstanding ministry of St. Mary’s Catholic Center. After college, Josh served as a youth minister and music minister for four years at two different Catholic parishes.
While working in the Church, he started designing websites on the side in 2003 to generate extra income for his growing family. In 2004, he shifted his focus to website development (online software) and developed many custom applications, including the real-time scoring system for the NBA’s Vegas Summer League (which was eventually taken over by NBA.com).
In 2005, Josh left his position at the parish to pursue website development full-time. In Advent 2005, he released the original version of eCatholic and signed on a few “beta” parishes. In early 2006, eCatholic began to gain momentum and started to spread to parishes around the country. Twelve years later, eCatholic has become the leader and the largest provider of beautiful, dynamic Catholic websites in the country.
Josh is also one of the founders and speakers of the popular Digital Church Conference - A One-Day Guide to Catholic New Media and the New Evangelization. Together with Brandon Vogt and Matt Warner, Josh helps inspire and empower Catholic dioceses, parishes, and schools to effectively use new media to communicate and evangelize.
Josh and his wife still reside in Texas and are proud parents of six beautiful children (one of whom is now interceding in Heaven). Josh is a basketball fanatic and still trains, plays, and coaches competitively. He is also an avid golfer and musician.
